The BET!

I don't know how in the world I get myself into these situations. Let me see if I can figure it out with you. My weight has been getting out of control over the years. I was at my highest weight a couple of months ago when I weighed myself and realized I was at 295. HOLY CRAP!! How in the world did this happen?!?! Well, if I am going to be honest, it could be that I wasn't working out, eating out all the time, eating too much, and way too much late night snacking. Once I realized how out of control my weight had gotten, I decided to do something about it. I kept trying to get into a workout schedule but it was more miss than hit.
While at a BBQ my brother-in-law says to his cousin that we should all do something that will give us a goal to get into working out and becoming healthier. The idea was a good one and we kicked around some ideas. Loser had to do dishes or wash clothes. No, that's no good. That is when the goofy jokes started. The loser has to walk 2 miles around a track........in a thong. Better, but nobody was risking a thong. That and nobody needs to see that action. Finally we hit the magic combination. The loser has to hike 2 miles up a mountain and 2 miles back down. That's nothing you say? Wait for it........he has to do this in the middle of winter wearing a speedo and a sombrero. Oh yeah, sexy isn't it?

OK, now that you are done vomiting....wipe your chin, you have some puke on it. So the final decision was that everyone throws in $20. The contest is to see who loses the highest percentage of weight. The winner will win the $60, the second place guy is just glad not to be the last place guy and the last place guy is hiking 2 miles up the mountain and 2 miles back down in the speedo and sombrero.
So far I have dropped some weight but I need to do much better. The bi-weekly weigh ins show that I am the second place guy. Chris has come on strong to everyone's surprise, lost 22 lbs and is way ahead in first place. Huffy is currently the 3rd place guy but he is tricky. He will just stop eating for 2 weeks to avoid the speedo hike.
My starting weight was 286 lbs. Today I weighed in at 278.
