Here we go again!

I didn't just fall off the workout wagon; I fell of and it rolled over me and left my lifeless body in the muddy trail.  I have finally picked up my lazy bones and chased the wagon down and very ungracefully swung my leg over and pulled myself back onto that damn workout wagon. I think I must have smacked my junk when I swung aboard because everything hurts.  Of course that may just be that I have been a slug for the last few months.   I can tell you one thing for sure; it is like starting all over again.  UGH! The worst thing is that I have nobody to blame except myself. I can make excuse after excuse but really it all comes down to the fact that I sat down on my fat butt and let the lazy useless side take control.  OK, enough of that. The good news is that I am back at it and rebuilding what has been lost. It will be a tough battle but I will keep at it and get faster and stronger. I have a ½ marathon (my first) to run mid-March and a 70.3 (also my first) to finish mid-August.  It is time to get serious and get the eating under control and the workouts focused and regular.  Good-bye fast foods and sodas. I don't know why I let you back in my life but you are gone again.

I even managed to wake up early this morning and get my slow run in. It sucks so bad to wake up early but it is so awesome to be done with your workout before the sun comes up.  The run was rough. I was never a fast or even medium speed runner. Today my legs were very vocal about how little I have used them over the past few months.  My aerobic conditioning is in the toilet; I felt like I was going to die.  I knew that I wouldn't since this isn't my first time going through this. I used that knowledge to keep pushing on and suffering through the pain. I did stretch and used my new Stick rolled (thanks mom and dad). I just have to keep doing these morning workouts and they will become routine. That is what I need is a good routine. Plus if I do morning workouts I can do double workouts again.
